Description
The Rock Crosstraining Bar 220 cm Limited Edition Gold is a 20 kg Olympic barbell with a Cerakote gold finish, bronze bushings and eight needle bearings. It is built for facilities that run weightlifting, conditioning and strength work on the same bar rather than keeping a separate bar for each.
Rotation is what makes a bar versatile
On a clean, a snatch or a thruster, the sleeves have to spin freely as the bar turns over. If they do not, the load fights the wrists and the lift breaks down at the receiving position. Eight needle bearings combined with bronze bushings give a smooth, controlled spin that holds up through fast transitions and long metabolic sets — which is why this bar suits a mixed programme rather than only a strength one.
Grip and knurl
The 28 mm diameter is the standard men’s Olympic bar dimension and gives a balanced grip for dynamic movements. The 1.2 mm standard knurl grips without being harsh on the hands over high-repetition sets. There is no centre knurl, which matters for front squats and cleans where the bar rests on the collarbone. Dual knurl marks let users set their hands to either weightlifting or powerlifting spacing.
Cerakote and why it is specified
Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that resists wear better than a painted or plain black-oxide finish and does not require the oiling regime of bare steel. The gold Limited Edition finish makes the bar visually distinct on a rack — useful where a facility keeps a designated bar for classes or for a competition platform.

Frequently asked questions
What does the tensile strength figure tell me?
Tensile strength describes how much stress the steel takes before it fails, and it is the most reliable single indicator of bar quality. A rating of 205,000 to 215,000 psi places this bar in the professional bracket rather than the general fitness one.
Why no centre knurl?
A centre knurl grips the shirt and abrades the throat and collarbone during cleans, front squats and high-volume work. Its absence is a deliberate choice for crosstraining use; a dedicated powerlifting squat bar would have one.
How many bars should a box order?
One per training station in the largest class you run, plus spares for the platform. We size the order against your class capacity and rack count before quoting.
