Description
The S04 is an outdoor ninja obstacle course sized for children aged 5 to 12, built to EN 16630 with a hot dip galvanised steel frame of at least 3 mm wall thickness and an 85 micron minimum coating. Contact parts are stainless steel AISI 304 and ropes are UV stabilised braided polypropylene of 20 mm diameter. The price is 18,500 EUR excluding VAT.
The point of the specification is service life. Applying EN 16630, the standard written for permanently installed outdoor exercise equipment used by adults, to a children’s course means the load ratings and safety distances come from a stricter framework than a play structure would normally require. Each station has been load tested and subjected to thermal shock testing between minus 20 and plus 60 degrees Celsius, and the conformity certificate is issued on delivery, which is the document a local authority under inspection needs on file.
Modules included are a climbing rope, a suspended bridge, a ladder, a tunnel and a jump bar, each loading a different motor skill while keeping the child within a controlled envelope.

Anchoring, extension and inspection
Anchoring is into concrete sleeves or a slab at a depth of at least 60 cm, and the perimeter clearance required by EN 16630 section 4.2 is 2 metres on every side. Take those two figures together when assessing a plot: the equipment footprint plus 4 metres in each dimension is the ground you actually need.
The structure is modular and designed to grow. Additional modules such as a zip line, a climbing wall or an aerial net can be fitted without dismantling what is already installed, because the connectors follow ISO sizing. For a municipality building a park across successive budget years, that is what allows a phased plan.
Light In Fitness handles the site feasibility study, the 3D plan, permit procedures, supply, installation and 24 months of after sales support. A maintenance file is supplied with each installation in line with EN 16630 section 8, and your staff are trained on the periodic inspection routine.
Frequently asked questions
Why is EN 16630 used rather than a playground standard?
EN 16630 governs mechanical strength, entrapment risks and safety distances for outdoor exercise equipment in collective use. Applying it to a children’s course brings adult grade load requirements to a structure sized for children.
Is the equipment suitable for a coastal or mountain site?
Yes. Contact parts are stainless steel AISI 304 selected for marine corrosion resistance, and the frame is hot dip galvanised with an 85 micron minimum coating. Thermal shock testing covers minus 20 to plus 60 degrees Celsius.
Can modules be added later?
Yes. Zip line, climbing wall and aerial net modules can be added without dismantling the existing structure thanks to ISO standardised connectors.
