Description
The Bodytone Solid Rock SR03/O outdoor shoulder press is a plate loaded machine built entirely in stainless steel for permanent open air installation. It reproduces the military press movement on a guided vertical rail, loading the deltoids, trapezius and triceps, and takes up to 160 kg of standard Olympic plates. Because the load is applied directly by discs, there are no cables, pulleys or exposed moving assemblies that weather can attack, which is what makes the range viable in an unsupervised public setting.
Seat and backrest are stainless steel, as is the frame, so the machine survives rain, frost, salt air and ultraviolet exposure without the annual repainting that a coated steel unit would need. The Solid Rock Outdoor line carries over the structural robustness of the indoor plate loaded range and adds reinforced corrosion protection, with no technical room, power supply or enclosure required on site.

Where outdoor plate loaded equipment is installed
The SR03/O is specified by local authorities and social landlords equipping an open access strength circuit, and by campsites, holiday residences and outdoor sports complexes that want gym grade loading without a building. Its main advantage over a body weight or hydraulic outdoor station is that a trained user can actually progress: 160 kg of plates covers the working range of most adults, and the guided rail keeps the movement safe when nobody is supervising.
Plate management is the planning question that decides whether the installation works. Discs must be stored securely on site, either on integrated horns or in a lockable rack, otherwise the machine cannot be used. For that reason the range is most often installed in enclosed or monitored settings such as a campsite fitness area, a residence courtyard or a supervised city stadium rather than on an open park path. Foundations, anchoring and the surrounding surface are specified against the ground conditions at survey stage.
Frequently asked questions
Are the plates included?
No. The machine takes standard Olympic discs, which are quoted separately together with any storage solution so the installation is delivered ready to use.
Does stainless steel need maintenance outdoors?
Very little. Periodic rinsing and inspection of the fixings and the guide rail are enough in most environments. Stainless structures carry a lifetime warranty, which is why the range is chosen for coastal and high exposure sites.
Can it be combined with other outdoor stations?
Yes. It is normally installed as part of a circuit alongside chest press, lat pulldown and lower body stations from the same range, so a complete session can be performed outdoors. We can produce a layout for the site as part of the project study.
