Description
The Bodytone Nexion C80L is the larger of the two LED console stair climbers in the Nexion range: nine steps, a step size of 50 x 26 x 18 cm and a maximum user weight of 160 kg. Those three figures are what separate it from the C60L: a taller step and a longer staircase give a climbing amplitude closer to a real stairwell, and the higher user capacity opens the machine to populations a compact climber cannot serve. Resistance is managed by the EMS system across fifteen levels with a self locking brake, and the FTMS console connects to Kinomap, Zwift and MyBodytone. It is specified for high traffic commercial clubs, premium hotel fitness centres and sports performance facilities.

Fleet management and running costs
The features that matter most on a climber in commercial service are the ones that reduce downtime. Service mode gives approved technicians access to diagnostics, calibration and preventive maintenance; self diagnosis reports error codes as incidents occur rather than after a member complains; and automatic maintenance alerts flag the machine before a fault takes it out of service. The total distance counter shows cumulative use since first commissioning, which is the figure a technical manager needs in order to schedule servicing against real usage instead of against the calendar.
Overall dimensions, machine weight and electrical supply are confirmed on request. Because a stair climber is a tall machine with a moving staircase, plan the position with generous clear height and keep the area behind the machine free so a user can step off safely. Transport wheels are included, so repositioning during cleaning or a floor refit does not require a lifting team.
Design and user experience
The step rate spans 14 to 140 steps per minute, which covers a slow rehabilitation walk at one end and interval work at the other, and the fifteen EMS resistance levels sit on top of that. The design of the range was developed through an ergonomic and biomechanical study supervised by associated professionals and tested by professional athletes, from initial sketch through to market release. On the practical side, two bottle holders, a smartphone and tablet holder, wireless charging and an LED light line reduce the friction of a long session.
Frequently asked questions
How does the C80L differ from the C60L?
Both share the FTMS console, the 14 to 140 step rate, the fifteen level EMS resistance and the self locking brake. The C80L has nine steps against six, a larger step of 50 x 26 x 18 cm against 43 x 23 x 15 cm, and a 160 kg maximum user weight against 130 kg. Choose the C80L for the most intensive use and the widest range of user builds.
What does FTMS connectivity give me?
FTMS is the standard fitness machine protocol, so the console pairs with third party applications including Kinomap, Zwift and MyBodytone over Bluetooth, and NFC plus HRC compatibility covers member identification and heart rate belts.
Which muscles does a stair climber train?
The training zone is the lower body. Climbing loads the glutes, quadriceps and calves through a repeated step up pattern with no impact phase, which is why climbers are specified alongside treadmills rather than instead of them.
