Floor level MMA cages from 4 to 7 metres

Floor level MMA cages from 4 to 7 metres: our professional selection

A floor level MMA cage sits directly on the ground with no raised platform, which lowers the overall height of the structure and makes it far easier to fit into an existing room. Access is level with the floor, an advantage for clubs coaching mixed groups, junior sections and beginners, and it removes the platform edge as a hazard in a busy training hall.

What to check before ordering

Three points separate a durable cage from a short lived one: the grade of the mesh and the way it is anchored to the uprights, the padding on the posts and along the base rail, and the thickness and density of the landing mat. The clear zone around the cage counts as much as the cage itself, since coaches, spare partners and equipment all need somewhere to be during a session.

Mat specification follows the disciplines practised. Throws and takedowns call for greater density and thickness than striking work, so a grappling oriented club and a striking oriented club rarely end up with the same build-up under the same cage.

Floor level or raised platform?

Floor level suits rooms with limited ceiling height and clubs prioritising accessibility. A raised platform is chosen mainly where events are staged and spectator sightlines matter.

Is the landing mat included?

Mat type and thickness are specified with the cage on the quotation, so the whole assembly is priced together. See also racks and cages.
